Cali Terpenes Usage:
Cannabis scents (terpene profiles) by Cali Terpenes are used for a vast range of distinct applications. Within the cannabis and vaping sector, they're primarily used to add the aroma and taste of specific cannabis strains to products such as:
- Vaping liquids (e-liquids).
- Cannabis extracts and concentrates (rosin, BHO, traditional hash, THC or CBD distillates for "vape cartridges" …)
- Hemp or cannabis flowers (buds).
Recommended Usage of Cali Terpenes
Cali Terpenes are 100% pure, with no diluents or additives. They must be handled with caution and should not be consumed undiluted (except for tastings through Cali Terpenes borosilicate vape pens).
1ml of terpenes = 40 drops (0.025ml per drop from a 1ml dropper). One terpene drop equates to approximately 0.25% in 10ml of base:
- 1 drop in 10ml = 0.25%
- 2 drops in 10 ml = 0.50%
- 4 drops in 10ml = 1%
- 8 drops in 10ml = 2%
- 12 drops in 10ml = 3%
We normally advise starting from the smallest amount and gradually increasing, as Cali Terpenes can easily deliver an intense flavor and aroma due to their 100% purity.
Vaping Liquid Bases (e-liquids):
- The recommended terpene ratio for sufficiently flavoring e-liquid bases is between 1 and 3% of terpenes (you can use up to 4%, but 2% is the most common).
- For example, assume you want to flavor 10ml of e-liquid base, adding 2% of terpenes. For this, you would only need to add 0.2ml of terpenes.
- Keeping the same ratio, if you had 100ml of e-liquid base, you'd add 2ml of terpenes.
Cannabis Extracts and Concentrates:
- The recommended Cali Terpenes ratio for providing sufficient flavor and aroma to dry extracts (traditional hash or dry hash, …), including BHO (shatter, live resin, wax…), rosin, and THC or CBD distillates, ranges from 1 to 3% of terpenes (you can also use up to a maximum of 4%, though 2 to 3% is most common).
- For instance, let's say you have 10gr of cannabis concentrate, such as a distillate (commonly known as clear), and you want to add 3% of terpenes. For this, you'd merely need to add 0.3ml of our terpenes.
- It's highly beneficial to test lesser to greater quantities, for example: 1 drop for 3gr, 1 drop for 2gr, 1 drop for 1gr… wait a few days and savor the results of the various proportions used. By doing this, you'll know the ideal ratio before mixing it into the full amount.
- It's essential to mix well to achieve a uniform outcome, in addition to allowing for a rest/maceration period of at least 24/48h, for the terpenes to fully integrate.

Hemp or Cannabis Flowers:
Terpenes can also be used to flavor buds, whether they're from hemp or cannabis. We don't recommend adding more than 4% of terpenes, and in some cases, the aroma percentage may need to be reduced, as the flowers can contain some inherent terpenes. Using an excessive amount of terpenes could result in an overly intense and potentially unpleasant aroma.
The ideal method for applying terpenes to buds, flowers, and dried herbs is Terps Spray.
If you're dealing with small amounts of buds, these liquid terpenes can be used in a cosmetic sprayer or something similar to perform a function similar (though not as professional) to Terps Spray. It's also an option to use a terpene-soaked paper in the same container, but spraying them tends to achieve better integration in the case of buds.
Terpene Storage:
Cali Terpenes packaging is perfect for a proper terpene preservation, as they come with a security stopper, leak-proof disk, and screw-on cap.
- Every time you're done using the product, ensure to replace all these components to prevent potential evaporations or contaminations.
- Terpenes are volatile substances, therefore we always recommend storing them in a cool environment, such as a refrigerator (approx 7ºC), to prevent possible evaporations while you're working with them.
- The working temperature with terpenes should not exceed 60ºC, thus preventing the evaporation of the most volatile terpenes.
- Always keep the terpenes in their original container, as the utilized material (dark glass that blocks UV rays) is perfect for preserving thermo or photosensitive products. This way, you'll avoid potential discoloration, losses, or cross-contaminations (terpenes can act as solvents and corrode remnants of materials like some plastics).
