Applications of Cali Terpenes:
Cali Terpenes' cannabis aromas (terpene profiles) are used for many different applications but primarily in the cannabis and vaping sectors, they're normally used to introduce the aroma and flavor of specific cannabis strains to products like:
- Vaping liquids (e-liquids).
- Cannabis extracts and concentrates (rosin, BHO, traditional hash, THC or CBD distillates for making "vape cartridges" …)
- Hemp flowers or cannabis buds (buds).
Usage Recommendations for Cali Terpenes:
Cali Terpenes' terpenes are 100% pure, without diluents or additives. They should be handled with caution and should not be consumed undiluted (except for tastings on Cali Terpenes’ borosilicate pipettes or vaporizers).
1ml of terpenes = 40 drops (0.025ml per drop from the 1ml dropper). 1 drop of terpenes represents approximately 0.25% in 10ml of base:
1 drop in 10ml = 0.25%
2 drops in 10 ml = 0.50%
4 drops in 10ml = 1%
8 drops in 10ml = 2%
12 drops in 10ml = 3%
We always recommend starting with a lesser quantity and going up on the same base, given that Cali Terpenes' terpenes provide an intense flavor and aroma easily due to their 100% purity.
Vaping Liquid Bases (e-liquids):
- The recommended terpene ratio to sufficiently flavor e-liquid bases ranges between 1% and 3% of terpenes (up to 4% can be used with 2% being the most common)
- As an example, suppose you want to flavor 10ml of e-liquid base, adding 2% of terpenes. You'll just need to add only 0.2ml of terpenes.
- Following the same ratio, if you have 100ml of e-liquid base you'd add 2ml of terpenes.
Cannabis Extracts and Concentrates:
- The recommended Cali Terpenes ratio to provide sufficient flavor and aroma to dry extractions (traditional hash or dry hash...), as well as BHO (shatter, live resin, wax...), rosin, THC or CBD distillates,... ranges between 1% and 3% of terpenes (up to 4% maximum can be used, most commonly 2 to 3%).
- For example, suppose you have 10g of cannabis concentrate, for instance, a distillate (commonly known as clear) and you want to add 3% of terpenes. You'll just need to add 0.3ml of our terpenes.
- It's very useful to start with small quantities and scale up, for example: 1 drop for 3g, 1 drop for 2g, 1 drop for 1g... do a tasting after a few days to appreciate the result of the different ratios used, this way you'll know your ideal ratio before mixing it with all the material.
- Ensuring a good mixture is vital for an even result, in addition to allowing a resting/soaking period of at least 24/48h, this allows terpenes to fully integrate.

Hemp and Cannabis Flowers:
Terpenes can also be used to flavor buds, whether hemp or cannabis. It's recommended not to add more than 4% of terpenes and in some cases, the percentage of aroma may need to be less since flowers may contain some of their own terpenes. An excess of terpenes would result in overly intense, possibly unpleasant aroma.
The ideal method to apply terpenes to buds, flowers, and dried herbs is with Terps Spray.
If you only have a small quantity of buds, you can use these liquid terpenes in a cosmetic sprayer or similar to perform a function somewhat similar (though not as professional) to Terps Spray. You could also use a paper drenched with terpenes in the same container, but they usually integrate better when sprayed, in the case of buds.
Storage of Terpenes:
The containers of Cali Terpenes' terpenes are ideal for a perfect storage of terpenes, as they're equipped with a safety breaker, anti-leak disc and screw-on cap.
- Every time you finish using the product, replace all these elements to prevent potential evaporation or contamination.
- Since terpenes are volatile elements, we always recommend keeping them in a cold environment in the refrigerator (approx. 7ºC), to avoid potential evaporation while you're working with them.
- The working temperature with terpenes shouldn't exceed 60ºC, in this way you'll avoid evaporation of the most volatile terpenes.
- Always store terpenes in their original container, as the material used (dark glass that doesn't let UV light through) is perfect for the storage of thermo or photo-sensitive products. This prevents potential color changes, losses or cross-contamination (terpenes can act as solvents and corrode residues of materials such as some plastics).
Certificates of Cali Terpenes:
- Cali Terpenes S.L. is registered as an exporting company with the FDA (Food and Drugs Association).
- Their products comply with European vaping regulations.
Awards:
- Award for the best post-cultivation product at Spannabis 2019
