Applications of Cali Terpenes:
Cannabis aromas (terpene profiles) by Cali Terpenes find use in various applications. Within the cannabis and vaping industry, they’re mainly used to add aroma and flavor of specific cannabis strains to products such as:
- Vaping liquids (e-liquids)
- Cannabis extracts and concentrates (rosin, BHO, traditional hash, THC or CBD distillates for vape cartridge manufacturing…)
- Hemp flowers or cannabis buds
Recommended Use of Cali Terpenes:
Cali Terpenes are 100% pure and undiluted, without additives. They must be handled with caution and mustn't be consumed without dilution. (Except for tastings using Cali Terpenes’ borosilicate pipettes or vaporizers).
1ml of terpenes = 40 drops (0.025ml per drop from the 1ml dropper). 1 drop of terpenes approximately represents 0.25% in 10ml of base:
- 1 drop in 10ml = 0.25%
- 2 drops in 10 ml = 0.50%
- 4 drops in 10ml = 1%
- 8 drops in 10ml = 2%
- 12 drops in 10ml = 3%
We always recommend starting with smaller amounts and gradually increasing, since Cali Terpenes can easily infuse a strong flavor and aroma, due to their 100% purity.
Vaping liquids (e-liquids):
- A recommended terpene ratio required to successfully flavor e-liquid bases ranges between 1 and 3% of terpenes (you could even use up to 4%, but 2% is the most common)
- For instance, if you want to flavor 10ml of an e-liquid base by adding 2% of terpenes, simply add 0.2ml of terpenes.
- Following the same ratio, if you have 100ml of an e-liquid base, then you would add 2ml of terpenes.
Cannabis extracts and concentrates:
- The recommended proportion of Cali Terpenes to infuse enough flavor and aroma into dry extracts (traditional hash or hash, dry…), as well as BHO (shatter, live resin, wax…), rosin, THC or CBD distillates, ranges between 1 and 3% of terpenes (you could use up to a maximum of 4%, but 2 to 3% is common)
- For instance, let's suppose you have 10gr of a cannabis concentrate, say a distillate (commonly known as clear), and you want to add 3% of terpenes. To do this, simply add 0.3ml of our terpenes.
- It can be very useful to start with a small amount and gradually increase, for example: 1 drop for 3gr, 1 drop for 2gr, 1 drop for 1gr… then after a few days, conduct a tasting to evaluate the improvement with the different proportions used, so you can identify the perfect ratio before mixing it all together.
- It's crucial to mix it well for a homogeneous result and also to leave it to rest/infuse for at least 24/48hrs, this will allow the terpenes to fully integrate.

Cannabis or Hemp Flowers:
Terpenes can also be used to flavor buds, whether hemp or cannabis. Be cautious not to add more than a 4% terpene ratio, and in some instances, the aroma ratio applied may need to be less, as the flowers may already contain some terpenes. An excess of terpenes could result in too strong and possibly unpleasant aroma.
The recommended method to apply terpenes to buds, flowers, and dry herbs is the Terps Spray.
If you're working with small quantities of buds, you may use liquid terpenes in a cosmetic sprayer or something similar to replicate a similar, albeit less professional, function as the Terps Spray. You could also use a blotting paper with terpenes in the same container, but spraying often provides a better integration with the buds.
Terpenes Storage:
Cali Terpenes' packaging is ideal for perfecting the terpenes' preservation, as they feature a safety seal, leak prevention disc, and a twist-off cap.
- Ensure you reapply these items after using the product to prevent any evaporation or contamination.
- Terpenes are volatile elements, so we always recommend storing them in a cool place like a fridge (around 7ºC,) to prevent any evaporation while you're working with them.
- The working temperature for terpenes shouldn't exceed 60ºC, so as to avoid evaporation of the more volatile terpenes.
- Always keep the terpenes in their original container, as the material used (dark glass that blocks UV) is perfect for preserving thermally or photo-sensitive products. Thus, you'll avoid any color changes, losses, or cross-contamination (terpenes can act like diluents and erode residue like some plastics).
Certificates of Cali Terpenes:
- Cali Terpenes S.L. is registered as an exporting company with the FDA (Food and Drugs Association).
- Their products comply with European regulations for vaping.
Awards:
- Award for best post-grow product at Spannabis 2019.
