What are Terpenes?

Terpenes are in charge of aromas and flavours produced by cannabis plants. The same trichome glands that plants synthesize then go on to produce terpens, the molecules that give your plants their characteristic flavour and aroma.

From the 120 existing terpenes, each cannabis strain contains about 40. Different combinations and proportions give place to different flavours and aromas. These combinations are unique for each strain and are called terpene profiles.

As well as being present in cannabis, terpenes can also be found in other plant species. The terpene analysis done on each strain then allows us to reproduce the exact same profile using organically-sourced terpenes. This allows for terpene profiles that are similar to the original plant.

What are Cannabis Flavoured E-Liquids?

These e-liquids are essentially the result of combining terpenes with an e-liquid base.

These bases are made out of propylene glycol and vegetable glycerine. Glycerine is used to add a hint of sweetness and density to the vapour, and the propylene glycol holds the aroma.

Manufacturers add aromas to these bases in order to make e-liquids. The difference is that, rather than adding aromas such as strawberries or fruits, they add terpene profiles that are identical to those found in renowned cannabis strains. These e-liquids do not contain nicotine nor THC.
